Her Opinion: : I’m pretty sure you have heard of this international bestseller and its 2 millions copies sold worldwide. I will be honest by saying it took me time before buying this book, as I didn’t understand the buzz around it. It’s only after listening to the excellent podcast of Oprah Winfrey, Super-Soul Sunday, in which Oprah interview Eckhart Tolle, that I’ve finally decided to make an opinion for myself. I really enjoyed this book, although some parts are a bit repetitive, but at the end we also learn with repetition so I didn’t really mind this aspect as much as other did. The concept of the present moment is so simple, yet so powerful.
Chosen quotes from the book
“How does the mind pattern operate in your life? Are you always trying to get somewhere other than where you are? Is most of your doing just a means to an end? Is fulfillment always just around the corner of confined to short-lived pleasures, such as sex, food, drinks, drugs, or thrills and excitment? Are you always focused on becoming, achieving, and attaining, or alternatively chasing some new thrill or pleasure?”
“True salvation is a state of freedom – from fear, from suffering, from a perceived state of lack and insufficiency (…..).”
